connecting people to people
Cornerstone Connect exists to help every person at Cornerstone move from being a face in the crowd to a member of the family by intentionally connecting people to people.
"When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13
People recognize Jesus when they experience authentic Christian community.

At Cornerstone, we believe people grow best in community. We want people to move from simply attending church to building meaningful relationships, finding their place, and becoming part of the life of our church family.
Whether you're outgoing, organized, hospitable, or simply enjoy helping others feel welcome, there are many ways to serve.
First Impressions
Helping people feel seen, welcomed, and connected from day one.
The First Impressions Team helps create a welcoming environment for guests and members alike. This team includes hosts who greet people on Sundays, guest follow-up volunteers who reach out to first-time visitors, and Connection Guide who help people discover next steps for getting involved in the life of the church.
Ways to Serve:
Welcome and greet guests on Sundays
Help guests navigate the building and ministries
Follow up with visitors through calls, texts, or emails
Serve as a Connection Guide, helping people identify opportunities to connect and serve
Assist with newcomer events and gatherings
Connection Groups
Creating spaces where relationships can grow.
Launching this fall, Connection Groups are small gatherings designed to help guests and members build authentic relationships, grow spiritually, and find community. These groups will be one of the primary ways people move from attending to belonging.
Ways to Serve:
Facilitate a Connection Group
Host a group in your home
Help identify and welcome new participants
Assist with group communication and coordination
Support facilitator training and development
Second Sunday Suppers
Taking the initiative to share a meal and build relationships.
Second Sunday Suppers are a simple but intentional invitation for our church family to connect outside of Sunday morning. On the second Sunday of each month, we encourage members to invite others to lunch, dinner, coffee, or dessert. The goal is simple: make room at the table.
Participation can be as easy as extending an invitation, or it can become a larger church-wide initiative with organized opportunities for connection.
Ways to Serve:
Host a meal or gathering
Invite newcomers, members, or neighbors to join you
Develop creative ideas to encourage participation
Help coordinate monthly reminders and sign-ups
Assist with organizing larger church-wide gatherings and hospitality opportunities
Cornerstone Meet-Ups
Building community throughout Atlanta.
Several times each year, we gather outside the church for fun and fellowship around the city. Past and future meet-ups may include events like the Atlanta Jazz Festival, food halls, BeltLine walks, community festivals, restaurants, parks, sporting events, and other local experiences.
These gatherings provide low-pressure opportunities for people to connect, build friendships, and invite others into community.
Ways to Serve:
Suggest new meet-up locations and activities
Help research and plan events
Coordinate logistics and communication
Serve as a host at meet-ups
Welcome newcomers and help facilitate connections among attendees
