The meeting focused on discussing Goal 2 of the Theology team's work regarding church governance and the role of women in ministry at Cornerstone Church. Pastor Domonic and Ron Fairley presented the process and schedule for addressing these important theological and cultural issues. The team had spent months rewriting the church bylaws, which were adopted on June 30th, and now they are moving forward with a comprehensive process involving questionnaires, listening sessions, Bible studies, and resource reviews to clarify the biblical roles of women in ministry while addressing cultural issues within the church. The process will run from September through October, with listening sessions scheduled for September 12th and 13th, followed by Bible studies starting September 23rd, and concluding with a discussion forum on October 31st. The goal is to present recommendations at the December meeting, though flexibility will be allowed if more time is needed for proper engagement and consideration.
